Curated presentation of contemporary architects designed residences
June 8 2017, was the 150th birthday of Frank Lloyd Wright
During the heydays as a student we all dream of designing a “Falling water” in our lifetimes. Now that the real life is weaving itself and we are architects, I comprised a small group of contemporary architects from various cities that are now known names in architectural practices and have worked on the design of residences. Where as some have focused on this particular typology, for some it has been an experimental foray in residential design. If I were to distill the philosophies of Frank Lloyd Wright towards architecture they would be respect and improve the natural environment, emphasize a sense of shelter, use of natural materials, visual vocabulary and innovation in design.
