The 64th International Festival of Contemporary Music will be held from September 25th to October 4th: ten days with 22 events that will feature 28 new works, 15 of which are world premieres (7 commissioned by La Biennale) and 13 Italian premieres.

Titled Incontri and directed by Maestro Ivan Fedele, the Festival revolves around great figures in music of the recent past, their thinking and their musical practices, in a dialogue with the most cutting-edge contemporary composers.

The Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement of this edition will be awarded to Spanish composer Luis de Pablo on Friday 25 September, on the occasion of the opening concert with the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto conducted by Marco Angius that will present two works by de Pablo.

The Silver Lion will be awarded to French composer Raphaël Cendo, the creator of a new musical trend called Saturation, on the evening of 3 October on the occasion of the concert with the Quatuor Tana and the Neue Vocalsolisten who will perform a long work by Cendo.
